Privacy Policy

Last updated September 30, 2026

WhatFliesWhere is made by Sora Technologies LLC. This policy explains what information the app and this website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have.

The short version. We collect as little as we can. There is no account unless you choose to create one, there are no ads and no ad networks, and we never sell your information. Most of what you do in the app stays on your device.

Information stored on your device

Your preferences, such as your home airport, saved airlines and groups, favorite and recent airports, and the kind of travel you do, are kept on your device. They are not sent to us unless you sign in and choose to sync them.

Information sent to us

Some features need our servers. When they do, the app may send:

Each live search is also noted in a usage record: the subscription identifier, the route and date asked for, and the IP address and country the request came from. We use these records to stop a subscription being shared or resold, and to see how the service is used overall. We keep them for three months, and we never use them for advertising or sell them.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store on iPhone and Google Play on Android. The store handles your payment, and we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. It stores the purchase against a random identifier together with a few of your in-app preferences, such as the choices you make during setup.

Analytics

We use PostHog to collect basic, aggregated usage analytics, such as which setup steps people complete and whether a purchase went through, and the country the app is used in, which it works out from the connection. When the app crashes or runs into an error, it also sends PostHog a crash report: what went wrong and where in the app's code, with the app version and the device model and system version. This helps us improve the app. It is not used for advertising.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional. You can buy and use the app without an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier, your email address unless you choose to hide it, and the name on the account if it shares one (Google always does). Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Your saved preferences are then stored with your account so they follow you to your other devices. That is all an account contains.

This website

This website does not use cookies or third-party trackers. If you give us your email address to hear when the app launches, we store the address, the page you entered it on and the country it was sent from, and we use it only for that purpose.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the service:

Each provider processes information only to provide its service to us, and must give it the same or equal protection as this policy does. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep information

Deleting your account and data

In the app, open Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and the information stored with it. It does not cancel your subscription, which is billed by the store you bought it from: cancel it in your Apple Account settings on iPhone, or in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions on Android. Deleting your account explains what is removed and how to ask us by email instead.

If you never signed in, there is no account to delete. Removing the app from your device removes everything it kept. For anything else, write to hello@whatflieswhere.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict some uses of it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@whatflieswhere.com. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app.
